I Horatio James Doggart of Newtownards in the county of Down (Manufacturing Agent) do solemnly and sincerely declare that Thomas Watters Doggart was born in Newtownards County Down Ireland on the sixteenth day of March eighteen hundred and fifty four 1854. That his father is dead and his mother is unable to fill up this declaration - and that I have had, being his uncle, every facility for knowing that the certificate of baptism ???? ??? is correct.

The firm of Adam Doggart and Company, General Merchants, Stationers, Printers, Butchers, Hotel Keepers, and Horse Hirers, Pitlochry, of which the Subscribers were the sole partners was DISSOLVED of mutual consent as at the 30th day of September 1892.

The Subscribers Arthur Doggart and Jessie Doggart will continue to carry on the business of General Merchants, Stationers, and Printers in Pitlochry, under the original Firm name of ADAM DOGGART & COMPANY, and they will be responsible for all accounts due by, and will uplift all debts due to, the dissolved Firm.

Death of Pitlochry Business Man

The death took place yesterday of Mr Adam Doggart, aged 76, one of Pitlochry's oldest merchants.
Mr Doggart was a native of County Down, and came from Biggar to Pitlochry 41 years ago, when he commenced business as a printer and stationer. He afterwards became a general merchant with a very wide district connection and numerous other projects filled abusy life until his retiral a number of years ago.

According to Scottish directories there was an Adam Doggart who was running all sorts of businesses in Pitlochry around 1878-1903 (these are just the years I have noticed there may be others) including a Temperance Hotel

I have since discovered that although trading as Adam Doggart & co the company changed hands at various times to various members of his children so it isn't always him below
