Paddy O'Connor from Ballybrack, Ballydavid, Dingle, Co Kerry passed away on 19 May 2012.

Paddy lived with his dog Jack and loved company. His door was always open to visitors, relatives, good neighbours and many friends. Paddy came from a family of eleven children and emigrated to Chicago in the late forties where he spent twenty five years in total. He served in the Korean War from 1951-1953 with the United States forces.

Paddy returned home in the late seventies to look after his parents and take care of the farm and has lived in Ballybrack ever since.

Paddy loved going to Dingle especially on a Friday to do a bit of shoping and have lengthy chats with his many friends. He has been unwell for the last three years and received great support from the staff at Cork University Hospital's Oncology unit and community health professionals as well as his good neighbours, relatives and friends.

Paddy spent the last ten days of his life in Dingle Community Hospital where he received great care and passed away peacefully with close family at his side.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
