McCARRON or CAIRNS?

Most of this part of the tree was produced from Russell Doggarts mammoth 900 Doggarts tree. As he said it was just a snapshot of his work at that time. In it he showed Arthur Doggart marrying twice; once to Jane Newell and once to Jane McCarron.

He also showed a different Arthur marrying a Jane Cairns.

After further research I think Jane McCarron and Jane Cairns are the same person.

A few reasons...

  1. On Russels Arthur=Jane McCarron tree they have children including Alexander(b1842) who marries Margaret Gamble. They have a number of children one of which is JANE CAIRNS DOGGART. Named after her grandma?

  2. On Alexander(b1842)'s marriage record it gives his Father's occupation as "Letter Carrier". Letter carrier was the occupation of the son of the "other" Arthur Doggart. Suggesting they are actually the same Arthurs.
