Catherine came to the U. S. in 1895 on the ship Pavonia, which docked in Boston. She is listed on the ship’s manifest as Kate. Her sister, Mary Ellen came with her. Mary Ellen (my husband’s grandmother) wrote on the back of her birth registration that she brought with her that she came 10 Jun 1895 and went first to Springfield, MA – they would have both gone there. Holyoke, MA, where Catherine married and lived, is only 14 km from Springfield.
